Seatrade Offshore Marine & Workboats Middle East 2017 exihibiton and conference was held from 25 to 27 September, in Abu Dhabi, UAR, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The three day event gave the opportunity to listen and learn from some of the industry’s leading personalities. The conference programme included top-level discussions on the important trends within the industry, as well as technical and practical discussion forums. The highly regarded and well attended event continued to serve as a meeting point for international industry professionals to come together and do business. CMS representatives joined both the exhibition and conference, and together with the Australian shipbuilding company Austal presented FCB Rashid Behbudov vessel, a 70 metre, all-aluminium, high-speed catamaran with an Ampelmann heave compensated gangway that enables “walk to work” capability, and offering a new benchmark in offshore crew transfer capability the vessel has delivered a more efficient, economical, safer and more comfortable experience for crew and passengers.














This article gave an interesting look into the offshore marine industry and showed how events like Seatrade help professionals connect and share new ideas. As a student, I remember reading about large industries like this while handling a heavy course load, and I had used do my assignment for me during a particularly busy period to keep up with deadlines. It reminded me that learning about different fields can open our minds to opportunities we might never have considered.
